Multiple-conductor Cables. Zero Halogens

600 V / 90 °C

General description

Cable manufactured with three or four soft drawn copper conductors and thermosetting ethylene propylene rubber (EPR) individual black colored insulation, identified by printed numbers, filled circular section, binder tape and thermosetting (polyeolefin) outer jacket.

Specifications

  • Viakons multiple-conductor cables, zero halogen, meet the following specifications:
  • NOM-063-SCFI Electric products - conductors - safety requirements.
  • NMX-J-486-ANCE Low voltage power cables, no flame propagation characteristic, low smoke emission and no halogen content, 600 V 90°C.

Main applications

  • Due to their excellent properties, these cables are suitable for facilities that require maximum safety the event of fire, such as: electrical centers, high traffic public locations, shipboard, etc.
  • Can be installed in trays or conduits and in underground or exposed to sunlight facilities, in either moist or dry locations.

Characteristics

  • Maximum operation voltage: 600 V
  • Maximum operation temperature in the conductor:
  • 90°C In dry or moist environments.
  • Manufactured in sizes from 8,367 to 253,4 mm2 (8 AWG to 500 kcmil).
  • No flame propagation.
  • Ethylene propylene thermosetting (EPR) individual insulation and polyeolefin jacket.
  • Black insulation identified by printed numbers.

Advantages

  • Soft copper conductors for an easy handling and installation.
  • Meet the no flame propagation test (NMX-J-093), the low emission test (NMX-J-474) and the low acid gas content test (NMX-J-472).
  • Thermosetting insulation and jacket provide better thermal stability.
  • High resistance to abrasion, oil, chemical solvents, and moisture.
  • Better level of safety under fire conditions than the corresponding LS type cables.
